I’ve been publishing a monthly zine, “Re-minders” for a few years and am currently working on the 30th issue. What’s it about? It’s a 16-page collection of edited notes, poems, morning writings, drawings, collages, and illustrations on the topics of human consciousness, humanity’s brilliance and struggles, love of animals and nature’s cycles, and personal reflections and experiences. I offer print and digital versions of this zine that can be found on my Patreon page.
I’m also released an album with my duo Grand Kali Ma, which can be found on Bandcamp. Other songs are in the works for another project, which I hope to release in 2019.
Thanks for visiting!
It’s happening this Saturday, December 10 at The David Brower Center 2150 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA
Check out their Facebook Event page for details including workshop info, and list of zine-makers. This year attendance and support is more welcome than ever due to the tragic Ghost Ship fire that took the beautiful lives of some friends from the Bay Area zine community. There will be table of zines and other donated items for sale, and proceeds will go to the family of the fire victims. I’ll be donating my zines to this cause, so please stop by if you can for the love of our amazing, strong community that continues to create in these times of economic and social challenge.
Folio Books (Noe Valley, San Francisco) is having their first pop-up zine fest on Sunday October 16 featuring 8 zine creators including myself. Some of my “Re-Minders” zines are in the store now for purchase and I will be bringing more of my mini zines and other original small art pieces (and stationery, sketchbooks) to show and sell.
Come say hi, meet other artists and writers and let’s talk about zines.
You going? Check out SF Zine Fest’s website for details on this event and the other events leading up to one of my favorite events for independent creators of the zine, small indie press, and comic book variety.
I’ll be tabling at L.A. Zine Fest 2016 at the Majestic Downtown located at 650 S. Spring Street, Los Angeles. For years I kept hearing about how great their zine fest is and that “someday” is coming soon to experience it.
If you are in the area and love zines, independently-published books, comics, and other non-mainstream printed media, come by and say hello. I will have some stickers and just a few of my magic dream boxes in addition to my 7 issues of “Re-Minders” zines.
I just printed a short run of “Re-Minders” issue 7 in time for the East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest in Berkeley, CA.
Anybody there? I am still here doing my thing, tuning into the cosmic freak-when-see of the universe and trying not to get completely swept away. Kinda hard to do during these energetically intense times, but the good news is I’m almost finished with “Re-Minders” issue #6. I meant to have it completely printed by summer solstice, but Independence Day seems like good timing and I like the metaphor.
On July 18-19, I will be showing and selling my zines and dream boxes at the Portland Zine Symposium! I’m very excited to be there at this fantastic place for the zine die-hards and appreciators. I think the last time I tabled there was in 2008 and I can hardly wait to reconnect with that community. Plus, it’s PORTLAND!
If you won’t be in Portland and aren’t a regular at my home/studio in San Francisco, but want to see details of my zines, check out my Etsy shop.
Also, save the date for the San Francisco Zine Fest, which will be held ONE DAY ONLY this year on Sunday, September 6 at the San Francisco County Fair Building.
Just published in March, 2015, I present my latest (and fifth) issue of Re-Minders.
This issue has 28 pages of drawings, collage, writing and reflections on human be-ing.
