If you love art books, altered books, zines, comics, story pages, and enjoy reading other people’s journals and digging through sketchbooks from free-thinkers and daydreamers, then mark your calendar–
The 5th Annual East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest is happening on Saturday, December 6th, 2014 at Berkeley City College, 2050 Center Street in Berkeley, CA.
Hundreds of creative writers and artists are showing and selling their work in addition to speakers and workshops. Check out EBABZ’s website for the details.
I’m currently working on Re-Minders issue #4, and will have copies of 1-4 for sale. (By the way, I have a few copies for sale or preview on Etsy). I’ll also be showing and selling my dreamy dream boxes, which look like this:

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be exhibiting at San Francisco Zine Fest 2014. It takes place August 30 and 31 at the San Francisco County Fair Building at 1199 9th Avenue at Lincoln Way in Golden Gate Park.
While the focus is on zines and comics that are self-and indie-published, this is also the place to see and buy hand made art like prints, comics, stationery, crafty stuff, re-purposed art, and altered books. Check out the San Francisco Zine Fest 2014 website for details on exhibitors, workshops, guest speakers, and other related events.
This is one of my favorite annual events and a must-attend for artists and art-lovers who enjoy the personal, experimental, and printed format of art and writing.

The East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest is coming!
December 7, 2013 from 10 am-5 pm at Berkeley City College (2050 Center Street, Berkeley )
I’m currently working on a new zine inspired by the shifts in consciousness that I’ve been experiencing personally and seeing happening globally. I’m also working on translating these images into my small boxes. Take a look at the event’s website to see who’s showing their work and what workshops are happening. These shows are always really fun because of the variety of artists. It’s perfect timing if you like to buy original art and gifts for the holidays from hard working artists who love what they do. Mark your calendar for December 7 and come out.
Looking forward to it!
Sketching at the de Young Museum Café. Intelligent light shines down with a wink and nod.
This is one of the boxes I’m working on. I’ve been attracted to the eye in art and am noticing a lot of other art using the eye motif. As a teenager, I used to draw eyes all the time. It seems to be a symbol of vision, knowing, and truth.
There are so many great images that use the eye. I started a collection of eyes I’m finding online on a Pinterest board.
I’ll be showing two pieces at a group show at Big Umbrella Studios and also for sale (just in time for V-day) will be my little matchboxes. Come check it out. https://www.facebook.com/events/182772441846435/
